Cal. 7.62 NATO. S# P204. Bbl.21.5". An awesome opportunity to own an American military legend without breaking the bank! The iconic M60 General Purpose Machine Gun was first adopted for the United States military in 1957, as the T161E3 to replace the .30 caliber Browning Light & Heavy machine guns. Largely based early, on a combination of the mechanisms found in the successful German MG42, combined w/ the FG42, the M60 is a would soon be extensively modified from its earliest prototype stages to bring the gun we're familiar with today to the U.S. Military. It is an open bolt, fully automatic, gas operated system & has become synonomous with the U.S. military, starting in Vietnam. It has also been featured in countless movies & television shows, including; Commando, Rambo, Predator, Full Metal Jacket, Platoon & several others. This example is a closed bolt, semiautomatic version manufactured by American Arms Delta of Reno Nevada. It looks very similar to the original military version, outwardly. The threaded barrel is terminated at the muzzle w/ the proper 3" flash hider. Directly to the rear is the integral, folding bipod. Correct, exposed, high-profile front sight blade. Black, rubber coared handguard w/ integral top heat shield. Center mounted, folding carry handle. Folding battle rear sight, graduated out to 1100 yards. Left-hand, belt feed w. belt bag hanger. Black plastic pistol grip w/ ambidextrous safety. Shoulder stock has folding shoulder support. Currently sporting green canvas sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Spade grip assembly, wooden shipping crate. CONDITION: Outward appearance does not indicate excessive use. Very little finish thinning in the feed mechanism, where it typically thins quickly due to mechanical intervention. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (25-5167/JZ). MODERN. $10,000-15,000.
