P.08 LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 8814x. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger mfg. by Mauser for commercial sales in 1941 and subsequently issued to the German police. The left side of the bbl. extension is marked with an Eagle/N commercial nitro proof above the S#, with the 4-digit year of mfg. "1941" marked over the top of the chamber, and an Eagle/L police proof marked on the right. Toggle is marked with the Mauser banner logo. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall, with the ejector exhibiting a plum coloring, as is standard. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard serrated blade front sight with V-notch rear sight. Frame is fitted with a police sear safety. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, rear toggle pin, as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 non-matching (S# "9045x") blued Haenel mag. with aluminum plug. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear and scattered superficial handling marks. Grip straps show light to mild thinning, with spots/areas of light surface oxidation and pitting. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show light smoothing, but are otherwise very good overall.
