Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 01316. Bbl. 16". The M68 Carbine was the original design that eventually become the Wilkinson Arms Terry. After J&R closed up, & Ray started the business again, as Wilkinson Arms, naming the new guns after his wife & daughters. This particular model, the M68 is a closed bolt, blowback operated design, built on an externally square receiver. It is fed through the pistol grip w/ a double stack, single feed magazine w/ a comfortable, tilted angle, unlike the Uzi, which presents at 90 degrees to the bolt. The muzzle is terminated w/ a cone, similar to that used w/ the earlier M2 Carbine. Barrel is retained w/ a simple nut, making takedown for transport fast & easy. Protected blade front sight. This example has to rear sight, instead, a 5" weaver-style rail. Short dark hardwood forend matches the attractive dark hardwood shoulder stock. Black plastic checkered grip panels. The M68 is charged w/ a top mounted, reciprocating charging handle. Ejection port on right side. All markings are on the rear of the receiver, rather than the side, like the later models. CONDITION: All aspects indicate this gun received little prior use, if any. Finish & furniture display only a few light handling marks. Bright bore w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (25-2236/JZ). MODERN. $800-1,200.
