IN FACTORY PACKAGING. Cal. 7.5 Swiss. S# 3337. Bbl. 24". The SIG PE57 is the semiautomatic version of the Stgw57 machine gun. These were very expensive when imports started in the 1960s-1970s, and combined w/ a caliber not common in the United States, there were only a limited number imported, leading to their scarcity today. Left side receiver markings include; "SIGARMS, INC / TYSONS CORNER - VA / MADE IN SWITZERLAND". w/ serial number. The operating system consists of a closed-bolt, delayed blowback mechanism utilizing twin locking rollers. It is charged by utilizing a non-reciprocating op-rod, w/ a beer-keg shaped charging handle, protruding from the right side. The safety / selector is located on the left side of the receiver w/ a clever, folding winter trigger mechanism located on the right side, parallel w/ the magazine well. Matte black finish on all exposed metal parts. Folding, protected blade front sight. Folding, elevation micro-adjustable rear peep sight more resembles a target / match rifle than a battle rifle. Folding bipod mounted just forward of front trunnion rotates 360 degrees, but is stored below the 12" ventilated barrel shroud, out of the way, not interfering w/ operation. Folding carry handle rests on left side of receiver. MAGS: 1 steel 24 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Original foam packaging & cleaning kit. CONDITION: All aspects lead to the impression it was used very little, if at all, which was not uncommon due to the scarcity of ammunition. No noticeable imperfections. Matching numbers on receiver, rear trunnion, front trunnion & barrel jacket. Bright bore w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (24-536/JZ). CURIO. $10,000-15,000.
