44R SEMI-AUTO CARBINE. Cal. 44 Mag. S# 666. Bbl. 18 1/2" with original insert (missing) sourdough front sight and factory folding leaf rear with vertical white line. Mfg. 1961 (1961-1985) with anodized aluminum buttplate, straight grained walnut stock having early slant cut forend, early screw attached cartridge guide and without magazine tube release button. Left side of action has very early "DEERSTALKER" marking (approx. 2,900 units) that was eliminated after Ithaca law suit claiming infringement of their 'DEERSLAYER" markings. Special "NRA TEST" stamping on right rear side of stock indicating used for NRA testing. Notable "666" serial number; are you superstitious? UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original box with "44 Carbine" and "666" marker marked on end plus 103 prefixed pre-printed on end label; box contains red inked out of production marked manual. Outer shipping box to FFL in CO; believed to be Ruger benefit auction firearm. CONDITION: very good to excellent overall appearance with faint stock handling marks; not altered or cracked. Near excellent metal finish (light muzzle wear) and bore. (23-6330/NW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
