Cal. 22 LR. S# 75. Bbl. 4" with side fluted staked blade sight and without "Inc." in legend. Mfg. 1958 (1958-1970; 143,945 units) as BC4 with resin impregnated rosewood grips without medallions. Only these resin grips on early Bearcats were without medallions; all other Ruger handguns past and present have had medallions. After the resin grips, Ruger used walnut with small silver eagle medallions beginning 1964 (just above S#35000); prior Bearcats including those with A-Z letter prefixes (3 digits) had resin grips. Two digit examples will have any combination of fluted (or unfluted) sight blades and capped (or uncapped) base pin latches) as they were subscription guns produced at various dates. Uncapped base pin latch. Standard gold toned anodized alloy trigger guard and steel ejector housing with dimpled ejector rod head. Has had factory safety update performed with transfer bar system and wide spur hammer. CONDITION: very good overall appearance with light hair line cracks in grips; likely from age. Very faint cylinder turn line and light high point wear (mostly in butt area). Near excellent bore. (24-15/NW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
