LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. S# 136646. Bbl. 26" standard weight octagon with seldom seen smoothbore as used by exhibition shooters. German silver blade rocky mountain front sight, filler in rear dovetail with combination tang sight. Full length mag. Blue finish with case colored hammer and lever. Desirable double set triggers. Walnut forearm and hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of fancy walnut have style H checkering and crescent steel buttplate. Left inside of lower tang has assembly number “13508” followed by wood grade marking “XXX”. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Records check listing the following. Type: Rifle, Caliber: 38-55, Barrel: Octagon, Trigger: Set, Checkered Stock, Pistol Grip, Smoothbore. Serial number applied May 22 1902. Received in warehouse on May 22, 1902. Shipped May 23, 1902, Order number 140293. CONDITION: very fine. Rifle retains over 75% lightly faded original blue showing carry and edge wear. Lever and hammer show strong case colors. Original wood finish shows areas of wear and finish loss with scattered scratches and marks. Sound action, properly functioning triggers. Smoothbore shows some small spots of darkening.
