SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga 2-3/4’’. S# 22082-14986. Bbl. 27-1/2’’ chopper lump w/ concave rib & brass bead. 7 pin sidelock action w/ double under lug & third bite locking. Exquisite game scene engraving. Right lock plate shows marsh scene w/ setters & flushing mallards. Left lock plate shows upland scene w/ pointing dogs & pheasants. Floorplate has a striking scene of an eagle taking a fawn. Trigger guard bow pictures a dog retrieving a rabbit. Balance of action has fine arabesque scroll w/ sunburst patterns around hinge pin. Engraving extends to forearm iron & breech end of bbls. Action features include pin type cocking indicators w/ gold bars, extractors & double triggers. Right trigger is hinged. Splinter forearm w/ Anson release. Round knob stock of fancy European walnut having point pattern checkering w/ tear drop points. Stock & bbl. have swing swivels. Toe line of stock has a German silver oval nameplate. LOP: 13-7/8’’ over original buttplate. DAC: 1-9/16’’. DAH: 2-9/16’’. Neutral cast. Bore diameter: RT .731, LT .731. Choke constriction: RT .012, LT .033. Minimum wall thickness: RT .023, LT .022. WEIGHT: 6 lbs, 15 ozs. Mfg. in Eibar, Spain prior to 1927. CONDITION: action finish has faded to a mild gray showing strong intact engraving. Bbls. are reblackened, iron fittings are reblued showing minimal engraving wear. Wood has a very good oil type refinish w/ freshened checkering. Pitting present in bores.
