Cal. about 410. NSN. Bbl. 3 1/2". This is a hand made Vietnamese break action single shot pistol that resembles a flare gun. The right side of the frame has two Asian characters that translated mean "Gun 6" but the pistol is otherwise unmarked. The front sight is missing & it appears a few others small parts are also missing. Checkered two piece grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a handwritten letter from a 3rd Marine Division Veteran stating that he picked this pistol up in an arms cache in 1967. It is worth noting the 3rd Marine Division fought in several major battles during the Vietnam War around the DMZ including Khe Sanh & a portion of the division fought at Hue during the Tet Offensive. CONDITION: grips show the expected heavy wear & staining w/ a couple chips & gouges. Metal is a gray oxidized patina w/ some light pitting & dings. Oxidized smooth bore. (22-3302/MJC). CURIO. $700-1000.
