Cal. 22 LR. S# 31384. These high quality rifles from the 30's are fun to shoot. This rifle has 24 1/2" heavy weight barrel with windage adjustable tangent curve rear sight and square bead front in matted ramp. Unusual blowback action can be used either as a semi-auto, bolt action or single shot. Action takes a five shot detachable magazine. Top rear of receiver is marked with Walther info, flag safety has three positions. Round knob pistol grip stock of relatively plain European walnut is fitted with Walther buttplate, has checkering at grip and finger grooves at forend, sling loops are fitted. MAGS: (1-5 rd.). CONDITION: fine. Metal retaining about 85% original blue which is fading to brown on barrel. Bolt knob is considerably silvered. Stock retains over 80% original finish with many scratches and light marks. Bore is bright with some scattered pits. Mechanically fine. These rifles retailed for $87.50 in 1939. The same price as a Winchester Model 52 Sporter. (23-584/MGM). CURIO. $500-900.
