REVOLVER WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 38 Spl. S# 477402. Bbl. 2". Detective Special double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1942. Left side of the bbl. is marked "38", followed by "DETECTIVE/ SPECIAL", with Colt's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the sides of the hammer, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion checkered wood grips. Underside of left grip panel is lightly carved "353 34 6263". Fixed half-moon blade front sight and square frame notched rear sight. Checkered trigger face. Matching numbers are present on the frame and cyl. crane. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: custom period modified U.S. holster. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light wear and some patches of light thinning overall. Bright bore, exhibiting a few scattered spots of light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show smoothing, as well as scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. Holster remains malleable, showing age related cracking and crazing.
