SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 179459P. Bbl. 3 13/16". Model PP semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther for commercial sales in 1940. Left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by standard factory markings denoting Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Right side of frame (chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit an Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the chamber area of the frame, which is polished in-the-white. Safety / decocking lever exhibits a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Walther banner checkered black synthetic grips. Slide features a grooved matte rib, with a fixed blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Slide matches the frame via an etched "459" on the interior, parallel to the ejection port. MAGS: x2 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked period brown leather holster. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light to mild edge wear (predominately on the edges of the slide) and some superficial handling marks overall. Grip straps exhibit some light thinning, with the rear grip strap exhibiting some wear fading to gray patina on the heel, as well as a couple scattered spots of light surface oxidation / pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting consistent light pitting and a couple small scattered spots of mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the safety / decocking lever. Grips show some smoothing, as well as a few superficial marks and nicks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting general overall wear and some scattered handling marks, with some age related cracking in the usual areas. (26-2960/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
