EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH CASE. Cal. 16 Ga. 2-9/16". S# 343360. The 27-5/8" shoe lump barrels are engraved with maker's name and address in milled out portion of slightly raised matted game rib. Sauer caveman logo is on rib extension. Tops of barrels are maked with Krupp Steel info. Barrel flats are stamped with June 1944 Nazi eagle nitro proofs. Case hardened boxlock scallop backed action features automatic safety, cross bolt third fastener, intercepting safely sears, raised rib cocking indicators on sides and double triggers. Action is engraved in simplified 380 grade style with well cut scroll within line and scroll borders surrounding well done game scenes on sides of action. Three ducks in marsh scene on left, with a setter flushing a grouse on right, while two others remain on ground. Bottom of action is engraved with maker's name and address. Steel trigger guard with scroll on bow has S# on tang. Pistol grip buttstock of lightly marbled and figured European walnut measures 14-1/4" over ribbed horn buttplate with Sauer "SSU" logo. Stock features shadowline right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering which wraps over top of grip and a sling loop on toeline that matches loop screwed to bottom of barrels. Matching long splinter ejector forend with inlet schabled horn tip has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .666. R .665. Restriction: L .022 (mod). R .009 (IC). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun comes with a tan canvas German style case, lined in green cloth. CONDITION: very good to fine. Barrels retaining about 80% original blue with light wear and marks overall. Action retains most of its original case hardening color which is strong where protected. Stocks retain nearly 80% of their original finish with a fair scattering of marks. Grip cap is missing. Bores are bright and shiny. Action has just a hint of looseness. Mechanically good. Ejectors in time. Grip checkering has been cleaned up with evidence of some repairs at grip. (23-6995/MGM).
