Cal. 270 WCF. S# 1874. Bbl. 24" w/out sights. Model 98 action w/ stripper clip guide. Features include stippled front ring, jeweled bolt, extractor & follower, 2 panel checkered bolt handle, low swing safety & commercial single stage trigger. Floorplate has checkered release button & leading edge. Redfield Lo-Pro fixed power scope w/ duplex reticle & gloss finish on a B-Square QD side mt. Leonard Mews walnut Monte Carlo sporting stock. Mews worked for Weatherby in the late 1940's & early 50's & is credited w/ designing the Weatherby stock as it's known today. According to Roy Weatherby, Mews was his "first & best stock maker ever". Features include shadow line cheekpiece, ebony forearm tip, sculpted ebony grip cap, swivel bases & Niedner checkered steel buttplate. Wrist & forearm have fancy French style skip line borderless hand checkering. Stock inletting is marked "WEATHERBY" under front ring & "L MEW" in bbl. channel. Mfg. 1953. CONDITION: over 98% original blue. Stock has very good finish showing scattered scratches & marks. Bright bore w/ sharp rifling. Scope has clear optics. (20-2262/DS). CURIO. $1,500-2,000.
