Cal. 257 Weatherby Mag. S# P15779. Bbl. 24" w/out provision for sights & marked "MADE IN W.-GERMANY". Mfg. prior to 1970; approx. 1959-1973 total for West German Mark V's made by J. P. Sauer. Bottom of bbl. has Sauer markings & proofs, Sauer S# 7225, firearm's S# near receiver plus 66 date stamp. Desirable early model in arguably Weatherby's most accurate cartridge. Action & full bbl. channel have be bedded w/ Microbed in addition to factory bedding at recoil lug area. Striped walnut stock having gloss finish, Monte Carlo cheek piece, sling studs & skip line checkering. Adornments of rosewood angle cut forend tip & grip cap (white diamond inlay) plus brown ventilated factory recoil pad; all w/ white line spacers. Fluted bolt w/ minimal cocking angle & safety on shroud having slight plum hue. Redfield 1 piece scope base (design retained by 3 screws) & 4 top screw 1" rings holding Redfield gloss finished Traditional Model 4-12AO Mult-Plex reticle scope. CONDITION: overall near excellent appearance having light handling marks on stock. Metal finish, scope set (including optics) & bore are all near excellent.
