BEAVERTAIL GAMEGUN. Cal. 20 Ga. 3". S# 141086. The 28" dovetailed bbls. fitted w/ swamped game rib are engraved "Webley & Scott England" and "Service Armament Co. Ridgefield, N.J." on the tops (retailer). Bbl. flats are stamped with 1970 Birmingham nitro proofs for 3" chambers. Loop is stamped "MADE IN ENGLAND". Case-hardened boxlock action features automatic safety and dbl. triggers. Action is engraved w/ small sprays of scroll within line borders. "Webley & Scott" is stamped on both sides. Top lever, floorplate, triggerplate, and trigger guard are blued and have vine borders. Straight grip stock of streaked & lightly fiddle-figured European walnut measures 14 3/8" over serrated wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip, and a vacant silver oval is on the toeline. Matching long beavertail ejector forend has an Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .618", L .620". Restriction: R .022" (MOD), L .028" (IMOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .030", L .030". STOCK: DAH: 2 1/4". DAC: 1 1/2"; LOP: 14 3/8". CAST: very slightly off. WEIGHT: 6 lb., 3 oz. CONDITION: very fine, retaining over 95% of the original finish on bbl., action, & wood. Wood shows some light scuffs and a few marks, most notably a 1" patch of scuffing on the left side of the beavertail forend. Bores are bright & shiny. Action is tight. Mechanically fine.
