SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH TWO REPRODUCTION HOLSTERS. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 6332h. Bbl. 3 15/16". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol assembled from a variety of wartime parts for Weimar police use. The bbl. extension is marked "1918" over the top of the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs and an imperial eagle firing proof marked on the right (firing proof repeated on top of bbl. and left side of breechblock). Various small parts exhibit small Erfurt arsenal proofs. Metal components exhibit an apparent police arsenal applied blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a straw finish, which appears to have been reheated at one time. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. Frame is cut for a Walther mag. safety, which is absent. All serialized parts are matching (including the firing pin, rear toggle pin, and grips), with many having been renumbered, likely during the period. MAGS: x1 plated 8-rd. with unmarked wood plug. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: x2 reproduction black leather holsters. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their period blue finish, exhibiting scattered spots, patches, and areas of light to mild wear and thinning that are fading to gray and brown patinas. Strawed parts are good, with some exhibiting scattered spots of light pitting. Bore exhibits consistent dark mild pitting in the grooves, while retaining trace rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show consistent mild smoothing, as well as some nicks to the diamonds, but otherwise remain sound. Reproduction holsters are very good to excellent overall. (26-433/MLW). CURIO. $1,100-1,600.
