GAME GUN. Cal. 16 Ga. 2-1/2". S# 30382. The 1933 A&F catalog lists this gun with retail price of $450.00. It has 26" demi-bloc barrels with flat matted solid rib. Top barrel is engraved "VON GLENGERKE & DETMOLD, INC." "NEW-YORK" and with well cut rose and scroll at rear. Rib is fitted with flip-up peep sight and large white bead. Bottom barrel is engraved "MADE IN GERMANY". Gray finish scallop back O/U action features automatic safety, double kirsten locking and double triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with near full coverage small scroll with rose bouquet highlights which surrounds well detailed game scenes, with setter pointing a pair of flushing quail on left side and rabbits and pheasant on right. "GREIFELT & CO. SUHL" is on each side. Top fence is deep relief carved in scroll and oak leaf motif. S# is on trigger guard tang. Lightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-5/8" over black Old English pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching three piece ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: O.670. U .671. Restriction: O .018 (Mod). U .006 (IC). Wall thickness: O .022. U .026. STOCK: DAH: 2-13/16". DAC: 1-5/8". CAST: about 3/4" off. LOP: 14-5/8". WEIGHT: 5 lb. 14 oz. CONDITION: good as refinished. Barrels retaining nearly all of a good quality rust re-blue. Engraving well preserved. Action has new gray color with some light silvering. Stocks are refinished. It appears that buttstock has been converted from pistol grip to straight and a new 7-1/2" x 1" piece has been let into comb. Checkering re-cut. Forend wood refinished, checkering re-cut a bit haphazardly. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight. Mechanically good, except over ejector is sometimes live. (24-2745/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-1,800.
