DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 38 Spec. S# 129467. Bbl. 4". Police Positive Special double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1916. Bbl. and frame exhibit standard factory markings. Butt is marked "W.F. & Co." indicating purchase by Wells Fargo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the sides of the hammer, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "COLT" checkered black hard rubber grips. Fixed half-moon blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and cyl. crane. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that have faded to gray patina, with scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting present overall. Sides of hammer have acquired a dark gray patina. Bore is mostly bright, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of light to moderate pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show scattered marks from handling and storage, with each panel exhibiting a large chip at the bottom rear corner, and the left panel exhibiting a couple of small chips along the edge of the front grip strap.
