TARGET RIFLE. Cal. 44-90 Sharps bottle neck. S#. 13072. Bbl. 34" octagon to round. Original Whitney bead post, wind gauge globe front sight with sun shade and spirit level along with Long range Vernier tang sight. 2nd mounting location at the heel of the stock. Case colored flat sided action has 4 major breech parts. Horn tipped forend and pistol grip stock of fancy black walnut have hand checkering. Bottom of grip has an additional checkered diamond. LOP 13 3/4" to steel shotgun butt. Estimated production of all styles, 40,000-50,000, 1871-1881. Weight 9 lbs, 11.2 ozs. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: wood shooters box containing reloading kit & components. Tools include; Ideal tool, cal.44-90 SBN with die.& bullet seater, Lyman No. 180 .448 bullet mold with handles & T. Ballard 44 cal patch cutter. Components consist of 9 brass cases & a small quantity of over powder cards. CONDITION: Bbl. retains over 70% dull lightly faded blue. Action has 60% lightly faded case colors. Very good original wood finish & checkering showing scattered small marks. Bore is generally bright with string rifling.
