Full nickel finish. 2 piece ivory grips with have a raised steer head on the right panel with silver rampant colt medallions. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Colt Manufacturing Company letter dated March 7, 1995 stating: "Serial Number: 347295 / Caliber: .45/c / Barrel Length: 4 3/4" / Finish: Nickel / Type of Stocks: Rubber / Factory Engraved: Yes / Shipped To: Von Lengerke & Antoine 33 S. Wabash Avenue Chicago, Illinois For Harry Hessel / Date of Shipment: March 14, 1925 / Colt Factory Order # 9626/1 / Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 1". Also included a binder with 12 pages of information & photos pertaining to a Harry Hessel of San Antonio, Texas. Hessel was a dry good merchant, who was related by marriage to Heyman Saul Lebman, a gunsmith who had ties to known gangsters of the period. CONDITION: 90% nickel finish showing scattered spots of wear & corrosion. Grips show a mild yellowing color with some age related checking. Sound action. Bright bore has very good rifling showing small spots of pitting. (25-5169/DS). CURIO. $22,500-35,000.
