REVOLVER. Cal. 450/455. S# 127168. Bbl. 6". Model 1905 double action revolver mfg. by Webley for Wilkinson. The top of the solid bbl. rib is marked "WILKINSON. GUNMAKERS PALL MALL LONDON S.W." with "WILKINSON WEBLEY II" marked on the left side of the top strap. Right side of the frame is marked with Webley's winged bullet above the "W&S" logo, followed by the S# and "WEBLEY/ PATENTS". Factory S# "127168" is marked on the left side of the frame beneath the grip panel, with Wilkinson's S# "3111" marked on the underside of the trigger guard. Frame, cyl., and bbl. exhibit a lustrous high polish blue finish, with some smaller components being polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Left grip panel is inlaid with an oval silver escutcheon, which is engraved "A.T". Blade front sight, with U-notch rear sight. All serialized components are matching and include the frame, cyl., bbl., as well as the grips. CONDITION: major metal components retain large amounts of their period blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear that show through to gray patina, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots with varying degrees of oxidation overall. Grip straps retain traces of their original finish, exhibiting a gray patina and heavy oxidation overall, with oxidation and pitting also being present beneath the grip panels. In-the-white components show areas of age-related discoloration overall. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of oxidation and strong rifling throughout. Grips show scattered superficial handling marks and a few minor impressions, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-4099/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,400.
