Cal. 44 HRF. S# 156649. Bbl. 24" round. Full length mag. Restoration & upgrading of this rifle was started, but not completed. Brass receiver is polished w/ partially completed hand-engraving on sides & top areas. Vine type scroll engraving w/ geometric highlights is approx. 25% completed. Sights, forearm screws & lower tang screw are removed. Full length mag. Original walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ brass trapdoor rifle buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: included is a Cody Firearms Museum Records Office Show Search Form detailing the following information, "Date In: 7/31/1882 / Bbl. Shape: round / Date Shipped: 10/2/1882 / Order #: 35726". CONDITION: receiver, breech block & some screws are polished bright. Brass forearm cap shows dents on left side. Bbl. & mag. tube show areas of pitting w/ forward portion of the bbl. showing some polishing & cleaning. Forearm is missing a large chip on left side w/ cracks at receiver & forearm cap. Stock shows wear w/ chip left of top tang & cracks extending from buttplate. Forward sling swivel is removed, rear sling swivel has the base only remaining. Action binds w/ cycled. Dark heavily pitted bore. (01-26416/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,000-2,000.
