ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 HRF. S# 118114. S# is followed by lightly marked "100". Bbl. 24" octagon. Sporting front sight w/ graduated leaf rear sight. Full length mag. Silver finished action has unsigned period hand engraving in the style of Louis D. Nimschke. Receiver sides feature foliate scroll w/ punch dot backgrounds. Vignette on left sideplate shows two quail. Right side has an open circle ready for an added inscription. Forearm cap & trapdoor crescent buttplate have complimentary engraving & silver plating. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ sling swivels. Left inside of lower tang is stamped "X W". Top tang tamp channel of stock has assembly number: "8114". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: three piece cleaning rod in stock compartment. CONDITION: bbl. blue fading to a mottled brown appearance. Mag. tube has light gray coloration. Action retains nearly all silver finish having acquired a pleasing dark tarnish. Original stock & forearm finish show dents, marks & wear spots.
