RIFLE. Cal. 22 Short. S# 159735A. Bbl. 24" octagon. Sporting sights. Full length tubular mag. Front portion of receiver is drilled for takedown pin. The takedown feature was found to be unsatisfactory & most have bbls. installed w/ permanently fixed pins. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ crescent steel buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter from the Cody Firearms Museum detailing the following information, "Rifle / 22 caliber / Barrel Shape: Octagon / Plain trigger / Sales / Received in warehouse on February 14, 1885 / Shipped from warehouse on February 14, 1885, order number 10818". CONDITION: metal finish has faded to an even brown w/ general light pitting on action. Wood shows wear w/ numerous scratches, marks & gouges. Dark pitted bore w/ worn rifling.
