RIFLE. Cal. 22 Long. S# 198985B. Bbl. 24" octagon. Sporting sights. Full-length mag tube. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ crescent steel buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter from the Cody Firearms Museum detailing the following information, "Rifle / 22 Long / Octagon barrel / Plain trigger / Received in the warehouse on January 13, 1886 / Shipped from the warehouse on February 26, 1886, order number 4638". CONDITION: action & mag. tube finish is fading to brown, showing scattered corrosion & handling marks. Bbl. has gray brown coloration, indicating touch-up finish. Stocks have a worn finish, showing dents & handling marks. Bore is relined w/ a bright appearance & good rifling. PROVENANCE: From the lifelong collection of Jerry Senter. (01-24849/DS).
