LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 Short. S# 160950A. Bbl. 24" octagon. Original sporting sights. Full length tubular mag. Action has the scarce tapered pin for takedown. The takedown feature was found to be inadequate & many bbls. are permanently fixed w/ the pin. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ crescent steel buttplate. Mfg. 1884. Approx. 1 in every 350 model 1873s were 22 cal. CONDITION: bbl. & mag. tube retain 70% dull lightly faded blue. Action has largely faded to gray w/ small dents around the takedown pin. Wood has moderately worn original finish showing numerous scratches, marks & small dents. Dark lightly pitted bore w/ worn rifling. (01-24845/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,500-3,500.
