Cal. 44 WCF. S# 8517. Bbl. 24" round w/ sporting sights. Action features a mortised checkered oval thumb-print dust cover. Blue finished w/ case colored hammer & lever. Full length mag. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 4 piece ramrod in stock compartment. Also includes a copy of a letter from the Cody Firearms Museum detailing the following information, "Type: Rifle / Barrel Type: Round / Trigger: Plain / Received in warehouse on September 16, 1875 / Shipped from warehouse on October 25, 1875, Order number 4542". CONDITION: action retains over 40% dull fading blue showing scratches & marks. Bbl. & mag. tube blue have largely faded to gray. Hammer & lever case coloring has faded to silvery gray. Refinished wood shows numerous scratches, marks & small dents. Sound mechanics. Bore retains good rifling showing some very light pitting. (01-25626/DS). ANTIQUE. $5,500-7,500.
