Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). S# 48841. Bbl. 24" rnd., with original sporting sights. Full length mag. Action has screw fastened dust cover rail. Blue finish, with case colored hammer and lever. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock, with crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. Mfg. in 1880. CONDITION: bbl. and action retain some dull fading blue in protected areas, with balance fading to gray, showing scratches, marks, and spotted surface corrosion. Hammer and lever retain traces of case colors. Stock and forearm have added finish over scratches and marks. Sound action. Lightly pitted bore retains sound rifling.
