RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). S#. 97068A. Bbl. 24" octagon to round. Original sporting sights. Button magazine. Blue finish with case colored action. XX fancy black walnut forearm & pistol grip stock ebony grip insert, style H checkering and crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. Left inside of lower tang is marked with "XX" wood grade marking followed by assembly number "4419" and "R" for rifle. Top tang channel of the stock is stamped with a matching assembly number. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: 4-piece cleaning rod held in stock compartment. CONDITION: Bbl shows 70% lightly faded blue with slight edge wear & spots of pitting. Top left of bbl approximately 6-3/4" from muzzle shows small area of cleaned pitting. Action & lever have 50% lightly visible case colors showing thru spotted dark corrosion. Unsanded wood has moderately worn finish & age darkening showing scattered handling marks. Sound mechanics. Bore retains sound rifling showing spots of pitting.
