Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). S# 315524B. Bbl. 24" rnd. Beech's folding front sight and sporting rear sight, with period correct thick base long range tang sight. Blue finish, with case colored receiver, hammer and lever. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock, with crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. Mfg. in 1889. CONDITION: blue and case color finish has faded to a gray/brown patina, showing spots of very light pitting. Receiver sides and sides of hammer show traces of case colors. Sanded and refinished wood shows scratches and marks, with evidence of repair along right side of action. Sound action. Bore is generally bright, with strong rifling, showing a lightly frosted appearance. (01-27038/DS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
