Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). S# 324028B. Bbl. 16" round carbine style. Barleycorn front sight w/ carbine folding leaf rear sight. Full length mag. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer, lever & buttplate. 8" Trapper length walnut forearm (1" shorter than standard). Straight grip stock w/ carbine trapdoor buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter from the Cody Firearms Museum detailing the following information, "Serial number applied on December 14, 1889 / Type: Carbine / Caliber: 44 / Barrel Length: 16 inches / Received in warehouse in January 06, 1890 / Shipped from warehouse on January 07, 1890, Order number 7472". CONDITION: over 97% restored blue & case colored finish. Stocks have very good open grain refinish. Bbl. markings show evidence of recutting. Bore is generally bright w/ strong rifling.
