Cal. 45-75. S# 23279, appears to be over stamped from 23479. Bbl. 22" round of carbine style. Reverse mounted sporting leaf rear sight. Left side of action has saddle ring. Band fastened full length original forearm. Straight grip walnut replacement stock using original steel trapdoor carbine buttplate. Toeline of stock behind lower tang has a small stamping that may be a letter "W". Mfg. 1882. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum records check detailing the following information, "Type: Rifle. Barrel Type: Round. Trigger: Plain. Received in warehouse on October 25, 1876. Shipped from warehouse on May 8, 1878, Order number 11778". CONDITION: metal has gray coloration indicating touch up finish. Brass lifter is polished bright. Refinished forearm shows scattered small marks. Stock has good finish showing scattered marks. Sound action. Pitted bore retains largely intact rifling. (01-23893/DS). ANTIQUE. $3000-4000.
