Cal. 45-70. S# 120625. Bbl. 22" tapered rnd. of nickel steel. Lyman ivory bead front sight, Lyman folding leaf rear sight w/ Lyman No. 21 "Climbin Lyman" receiver sight. Button mag. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer & lever. Forearm & hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of fancy black walnut XX have style H checkering & steel shotgun buttplate. Inside lower left tang is stamped w/ assembly "53" followed by wood grade marking "XX". Top tang channel of stock has matching "53" assembly number. Mfg. 1900. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Weapons Check detailing the following information, "Type: Rifle / Caliber: 45/70 / Barrel Type: Round / Barrel Length: 22 inches / Extra Light / Trigger: Plain / Checkered stock, Pistol grip / Sights: Lyman front, leaf and rear / 1/2 magazine / Shotgun butt / Received in warehouse on December 13, 1899 / Shipped from warehouse on December 14, 1899, Order number 47260 / Repair and Return on June 29, 1900, Order number 63026 / Repair and Return on October 02, 1909, Order number 26116 / Repair and Return on August 04, 1910, Order number 30813. Earlier T. E. Hall letter dated November 11, 1965 accurately describes firearm, however, the serial number does not match. CONDITION: fine, bbl. & action retain 90% original blue showing wear on edges & in carry areas. Hammer & lever retain 70% nicely visible case colors. Original wood finish shows scattered scratches, marks & small wear marks. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. (24-2078/DS). CURIO. $15,000-20,000.
