PRODUCED. Cal. 38-70. S# 139056A. Bbl. 26" oct. King brass bead replacement front sight, original sporting rear sight & Marbles combination tang sight. Full length mag. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer & lever. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ case colored crescent steel buttplate. Uncommon 38-70 chambering was first offered 1894. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter stating the following information "Type: Rifle / Caliber: 38/70 / Barrel Type: Octagon / Trigger: Plain / Received in warehouse on November 9, 1906 / Shipped from warehouse on November 10, 1906, Order number 80863". CONDITION: bbl., action & mag. tube retain over 80% lightly faded blue showing spots of freckling on action. Hammer, lever & buttplate show sm. amounts of case coloring. Original wood finish shows light wear w/ scratches, marks & spots of darkening. Stock has a sm. chip right of top tang. Sound mechanics. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. (20-1775).
