Cal. 45-70. S# 113940. Bbl. 22" tapered rnd. Pedestal mounted Lyman No. 4 hunting white bead front sight, filler in real dovetail w/ an aftermarket Lyman No. 41 receiver sight. Button mag. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer & lever. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Mfg. 1897. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter dated July 16, 2008 stating the following information: "Rifle / 45/70 caliber / Barrel Length: 22 inches / Barrel Shape: Round / Plain trigger / Sights: Lyman hunting front; Flat top rear / 1/2 magazine; 4 cartridge / Shotgun butt with rubber butt plate / Special light weight nickel steel barrel / Received in warehouse on October 13, 1897 / Shipped from warehouse on October 14, 1897, order number 19538". CONDITION: bbl. & action retain over 80% lightly faded blue showing edge wear, scratches & sm. marks. Loading gate is fading to gray. Sides of hammer & lever retain 30% fading case colors.
