LEVER ACTION MUSKET. Cal. 44 HRF. S# 51488. Bbl. 27". Blade front sight w/ graduated leaf musket style rear sight. Standard musket length mag. Silver finished brass action has full coverage of aftermarket vine type foliate scroll engraving. Left sideplate features a jumping bull elk. Two band fastened musket forearm & straight grip musket stock. Steel musket style trapdoor buttplate has complimentary engraving at heel. Stock & forearm are fitted w/ sling swivels. Mfg. 1870. CONDITION: bbl. & mag. tube retain 90% blue. Action has over 95% silver finish having a pleasing age darkened appearance. Stock & forearm show dents & handling marks w/ a small crack extending from left side of buttplate. Sound action. Bore retains largely intact rifling showing spots of pitting near the muzzle.
