Cal. 44 Henry centerfire. S#. 12272 on the left inside of the lower tang. Bbl. 19 3/4" carbine style. Mag. band mounted front sight with shortened & bent rear sight. Aftermarket nickel finish. Unusual 9" band attached walnut forend fits over lower receiver contours. Straight grip walnut stock with nickel finished brass trap door crescent buttplate. Brass action has a replacement flat style loading gate. S# indicates 1866 first year production. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: 3 pc cleaning rod held in the stock compartment, CONDITION: 75% added nickel finish shows spots of peeling & wear with small dents on the action. The forend shows wear & handling marks having chips along both side of the receiver. The stock is heavily sanded and undersize showing dents & scratches with chips around the metal. Functioning action. Dark pitted bore has largely intact rifling. (01-28710/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.
