Cal. 44 HRF. S# 152162. Bbl. 24" rnd. with original blade front sight and elevator adj. rear sight. Full length mag. Brass action was originally carbine style. Left side has brass plugs in holes for saddle ring staple. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock with crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter and records check stating: "Type: Carbine/ Changed to Rifle, Round barrel/ Received in warehouse on December 13, 1879/ Shipped from warehouse on November 26, 1880, Order number 22545". CONDITION: fine, retaining over 90% bbl. and mag. tube blue showing small handling marks. Brass action exhibits a pleasing uncleaned mellow patina appearance. Original wood finish shows a few marks and small dents. Sound action. Exceptionally nice bore retains strong rifling. (01-27967/DS). ANTIQUE. $8,000-12,000.
