SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 32 RF. S# 114009. Bbl. 22". Model 1885 Low Wall single shot saddle ring carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1919. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. and patent information, with the cal. designation marked at the breech. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, save for on the breechblock, which has been re-polished and is in-the-white. Plain wood straight grip buttstock and ebony inlaid schnabel tip forend have been sanded and revarnished at one time. Dovetailed blade front sight (backwards), with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Left side of the receiver features a saddle ring. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting scattered spots/areas of light to mild pitting beneath the finish overall. Bright bore, as refinished, exhibiting scattered spots of dark pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture exhibits scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with the buttstock exhibiting a repaired chip on the right side of the wrist.
