BREECHLOADING SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. S# 47722. Bbl. 25 3/8". Originally mfg. as a Model 1885 Low Wall single shot rifle chambered in .25 R.F., this example was later converted to fire .410 GA ammunition. The top of the half octagonal bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, with "55" and "25 R.F." marked towards the breech. Metal components exhibit a high polish reapplied blue finish overall. Plain wood schnabel tip / ebony tipped forearm with straight grip stock featuring a plain steel buttplate. Wood furniture has been lightly sanded and revarnished at one time. Front sight dovetail has been fitted with a brass bead sight. Rear sight dovetail has been filled with a blank, which features a brass band across the center. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some scattered spots of light to mild pitting beneath the finish. Bright bore, exhibiting a dark streak of machining marks. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, with small minor cracks present on the buttstock that stem from the receiver tangs. (01-26696/MLW).
