Cal. 40-82 WCF. S#. 30421. Bbl. 26" octagon. Sporting front sight missing bead, original sporting rear sight with Lyman combination tang sight. Full length mag. Single set trigger. Blue finish with case colored action & crescent steel buttplate. Forend & pistol grip stock of fancy X grade black walnut have ebony grip insert and style H checkering. Left inside of the lower tang is marked with assembly # "3078" followed by wood grade marking "X". Top tang channel of the stock has matching # "3078". UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter dated April 06, 2018 stating: "Serial number applied on June 07, 1889 / Type: Rifle / Caliber: 40/82 / Barrel type: Octagon / Trigger: Set / Checkered stock, Pistol grip / Sights: Lyman front & rear / Received in the warehouse on September 26, 1889 / Shipped from the warehouse on September 27, 1889, Order number 2638 / No other information is available for this serial number". CONDITION: Bbl. & mag. tube retain over 90% blue showing light edge wear with scratches and marks. The action exhibits over 70% lightly faded case colors showing scratches and dark spotting. Buttplate has faded to silver/gray. Original wood finish shows light wear with numerous scratches & marks. Sound action.
