Cal. 40-82 WCF. S# 84032. Bbl. 26" octagon. Sporting front sight with broken bead, folding leaf rear sight & combination tang sight. Full length mag. Blue and case colored finish. Forearm and pistol grip stock with ebony insert of XXX fancy black walnut with style H checkering. Left inside of lower tang is marked with assembly # "147", followed by wood grade marking "XXX". Top tang channel of stock has partially visible assembly # that appears to match. Mfg. in 1894. CONDITION: bbl. and mag. tube blue is fading to brown, showing small dents and marks. Action has faded to gray/brown. Stock has added wood repairs extending from the action along both sides of the lower tang, with a larger added wood repair at the toe. Left side of forearm has a small crack extending from the tip. Wood has added finish over wear and handling marks, with an age darkened appearance. Checkering is recut. Spring tension screw on lower tang is missing, resulting in weak mainspring tension. Lightly pitted bore retains intact rifling. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (01-27105/DS).
