Cal. 45-70. S# 107047. Bbl. 26" octagon to rnd. Combination front, sporting rear sight, with Lyman combination tang sight. Left side of action has hand scratched initial "W". Button mag. Case colored action and fittings. Forearm and straight grip stock with steel shotgun buttplate of extra finish walnut. Left inside of lower tang is has assembly # "939RB". Top tang channel of stock is stamped "25". Both sides of the wrist behind the action have stamped marks "DE.K". Left side also has 3 light marks that appear to be intentionally cut notches. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Winchester factory letter dated "June 6, 1983" from William L. Porter stating: "rifle/ 45/70/ 1/2 octagon barrel/ plain trigger/ 1/2 magazine/ shotgun butt/ rubber buttplate/ Received in warehouse on 11, 1896/ Shipped from warehouse on August 12, 1896.". CONDITION: bbl. retains 75% lightly faded blue showing carry and edge wear with spots handling marks, and light pitting. Action retains 70% lightly faded case colors showing scattered dark spotting. Original wood finish has areas of finish loss with scattered scratches and marks. Sound mechanics. Very good bright bore. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (01-27718/DS).
