Cal. 38 WCF (38-40). S# 74984. Bbl. 24" round (letter states 26" octagon). Original sporting sights. Full mag. Double-set trigger. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ crescent steel buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter stating the following information: "Serial number applied on April 17, 1897 / Type: Rifle / Caliber: 38 / Barrel Type: Octagon / Barrel Length: 26 inches / Trigger: Set / Received in warehouse on December 10, 1900 / Shipped from warehouse on December 12, 1900 / Order number 84915." CONDITION: bbl. and mag. tube retains 80% of their lightly worn blue, showing handling wear & spots of freckling. Action has a 70% reblued finish, showing carry wear. Hammer will not hold in a safe position, and triggers will not set properly. Wood has a worn finish w/ numerous dents & marks. Left side of the stock has a small crack extending from the action.
