LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38 WCF. S# 3856. Bbl. 24" octagon. Rocky Mountain front sight with lowered German silver blade. Sporting rear sight with Lyman No. 103 windage tang sight. Full length tubular mag. Blue finish with case colored hammer, lever, and crescent steel buttplate. Forearm and straight grip stock of nicely grained walnut. Right side of forearm has hand scratched markings "1025 0A 11526". Mfg. in 1892, first year of production. CONDITION: over 90% original blue showing light carry and edge wear with scattered small spots of corrosion and handling marks. Original wood finish shows scattered scratches, marks, and small dents. Sound mechanics. Bore retains strong rifling showing scattered pitting. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (01-27726/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
