CUSTOM BILL MORRISON BARREL. Cal. 32-20. S# 627857. Bbl. 20". Model 1892 lever action carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1911. Left side of the custom replacement bbl. is marked "32-20" towards the breech, with "MORRISON/ BANGOR, MAINE" marked on the right, indicating mfg. by Bill Morrison, the state of Maine's most well known gunsmith. Upper receiver tang is marked "MODEL 1892" above the Winchester trademark logo. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Sanded and refinished single band fastened plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with Winchester checkered brown hard rubber buttplate. Ramped blade front sight (bead absent) with receiver mounted Lyman No. 66A aperture rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks, some scattered spots of light surface oxidation, as well as some scattered spots and small patches of light to mild pitting. Mirror bore, exhibiting a couple of small spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and small impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. Buttplate exhibits 2 cracks that run the width of the plate.
