CARBINE. Cal. 25-50 WCF. S# 961417. Bbl 20". Model 1892 saddle ring carbine manufactured by Winchester in 1926. Left side of barrel is stamped with the Winchester trademark logo stamped between the model and caliber designations. Right side bears Winchester's 2 line address. Blued finish, with a plain smooth straight grip buttstock and forend. Ivory beaded front sight with U-notch ladder rear sight. Saddle ring is not present. CONDITION: receiver retains fair amounts of its original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning overall that shows through to gray and brown patinas, as well as distinctive wear on the left side from the saddle ring. Barrel, lever, and buttplate exhibit areas of wear and thinning that show through to patina, with scattered areas of dark oxidation overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting a few scattered spots of pitting and strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture exhibits some scattered marks and minor impressions from storage and handling, but otherwise is very good overall. (23-2294/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
