BARREL LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30 WCF. S# 30299. Bbl. 26" octagon of takedown style w/ rare matted top flat. Sporting front sight, express rear sight w/ combination tang sight. Full length mag. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer & lever. Forearm & pistol grip stock of fancy walnut feature Winchester sling eyes, hard rubber grip cap & hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Left inside of lower tang has assembly number "5145" followed by wood grade marking "XXX" & "RB" indicating rubber buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: included is a Cody Firearms Museum Records Office letter detailing the following information, "Serial number applied on November 12, 1897 / Type: Rifle / Caliber: 30 / Barrel Type: Octagon / Trigger: Plain / Shotgun butt rubber butt plate / Takedown / Matted barrel / Received in warehouse on December 07, 1897 / Shipped from warehouse on December 07, 1897, Order number 23580 / Repair and Return on November 04, 1898, Order number 13761 / Repair and Return on November 29, 1900, Order number 77148". CONDITION: bbl. & mag. tube retain 30% lightly faded blue showing edge wear. Action has 60% fading blue showing carry wear. Hammer & lever show traces of case colors. Stock & forearm have original finish showing wear spots, numerous scratches & marks as well as moderately worn checkering. Stock has a small chip right of top tang. Sound action.
