DELUXE LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-55 WCF. S# 297609. Bbl. 24" tapered rnd. Ramp mounted Lyman gold bead front sight and Lyman 2-leaf folding rear sight, with combination rear sight. 3/4 length tubular takedown style mag. Blue finish with case colored hammer and lever. 8 3/8" short rifle length forearm and hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of fancy walnut with style H checkering and hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Left inside of lower tang is marked with assembly # "739" followed by wood grade and other markings "O X R". Top tang channel of stock has matching assembly # "739". Top of comb is fitted with a small circular compass. Mfg. in 1904. CONDITION: bbl. and mag. tube retain 90% lightly worn blue showing muzzle wear with scattered light scratches and marks. Action has 75% blue showing edge and carry wear with scratches and spots of pitting. Lever shows a small amount of visible case colors. Wood has dark appearance showing light finish and checkering wear with scratches and marks. Forearm has a hairline crack extending from left side of action. Stock shows a small chip right of top tang. Bore retains strong rifling showing some very light pitting. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1846/DS). CURIO. $3,000-5,000.
